You've got me California Dreamin'...

...or is that reminiscing? I'm glad those places are still there, looking so good, and you are finding and enjoying them. It's hard to beat that windswept place for exhilarating desolation; what would you give to be the light keeper there (at least on sunny days...)?

Another windswept place I remember had a great panoramic view of the Santa Clara Valley, from Morgan Hill to Richmond. It is southwest of San Jose, up in the hills above Lexington Reservoir, I think, some county park, a curvy road rounding the top of a broad, flat hilltop. There was a particularly memorable visit in late afternoon during the spring tarantula swarm. The spiders! And the view! You should go there...

...roll that in with a slow un-hurried trip to Santa Cruz along Hwy 35, Skyline Blvd. You can pick it up off 92, after crossing Crystal Springs reservoir. Continue on Hwy 9 towards Boulder Creek... Have lunch with my buddy Mike Dunn once you're in Santa Cruz. Head back home on Hwy 17, and take the Lexington Reservoir exit... go up Limekiln blvd... take lots of tarantula food...

Ahoy, McCoy!

1) I was struck by those swirly lines, too! Very nifty, and worthy of research (tomorrow).

2) While it might be a bit presumptuous to assume you know what d6 means, Games of Berkeley is host to many a role-playin', dice-rollin', trash-talkin' D&Din'-type games (they're just downstairs where no one can see them). I'm guessing that many of the people who frequent the shop know about d20s and d100s and d4s and whatnot, and that maybe the staff often forget that not everyone has a secret, sacred clutch of dice like they do. ;)

: ) I'm pretty sure heels exist that don't make the attention-drawing clacky noise (granted, they probably won't be as sexy as your current pair...). ; )

So, do we loyal three get membership cards or something? Cuz we totally should... : ) Good to hear about the Life of McCoy!

You might be able to have the best of both worlds by getting rubber soles put on those high-fashion real-live-grown-up-fancy-lady shoes... shouldn't cost much, they're thin, and slip-proof to boot (no pun intended) ;-)

Got your postcard on Friday. Love it.

Good to know you're getting some valuable work experience out there; public relations manager belongs on your resume.

When will you be back? Miss you!
